Kiko Matos says no to drugs
Partee refers to the drug ecstasy that gives partygoers the high. It also refers to the upcoming movie starring indie actor Kiko Matos, Bembol Roco’s son Felix Roco and Angela Cortez, who played a supporting role in the 2014 Jericho Rosales-starrer “Red.”
“Partee,” directed by former indie actor Jill Singson Urdaneta, is about people using a prohibited drug for good time. Matos promises that any adult or teenager will able to relate to the movie, especially the partygoer.
Matos, who just finished filming the action flick “Mabalasik” with GMA star Aljur Abrenica and Starstruck discovery Roco Nacino, always try to play a new role and was convincing as the bad influence in “Partee” for introducing Roco’s character to ecstasy. And he did it with justice despite never having used partee or other illegal drugs in his entire life.
“Nope, I have not experienced any (drugs). No to drugs and stay in school,” says Matos.
The words are not a promotional gimmick for Partee. Matos is a healthy living model in true life as he plays flag football with friends and younger brother, Gonzalo, on weekends, travel around the Philippines and just hangs out with friends or ride his motorbike during his shooting-free days.
Shooting “Partee” was not difficult because the entire movie was just shot in a Manila apartment. Matos says the cast and crew didn’t need to change locations.
He enjoyed memorizing the script. Roco and Cortez are long-time friends so it was easy working with them. Working with director Urdaneta also was not hard.
